Description
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, delivers this competition through the Battery Innovation Programme on behalf of the Department for Business Innovation Science and Trade (BIST). It funds collaborative feasibility studies to accelerate development and commercialisation of advanced battery technologies, grow UK supply-chain companies, improve global competitiveness and enable electrification across diverse sectors.
Projects may trial very novel battery technologies, adapt existing materials, processes or equipment for battery applications, or exploit scientific advances for product or process commercialisation. Proposals must demonstrate sector-specific market demand, address industry challenges and strengthen UK competitiveness across the battery value chain. Solutions must consider financial implications, sustainability targets, environmental impacts and regulatory policies. This is the feasibility studies strand, separate from concept development round three.
