This opportunity supports outstanding investigator-led research projects spanning the full scope of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) remit, including biotechnology, biological sciences, data-intensive studies, technology development, equipment, research networks, and community resources. Projects may address research challenges in plants, microbes, animals, humans, and underpinning tools and technologies, from molecular to landscape scales. Multidisciplinary and curiosity-driven research are encouraged, as long as the primary focus remains within the BBSRC remit. The scheme is designed to foster world-class bioscience and advance knowledge and understanding in the biological sciences.
