Description
Dorset Community Foundation delivers this fund with BCP Council and The Royal Foundation, supported by the government’s Homelessness, Rough Sleeping and Domestic Abuse Grant. Influenced by Homewards, it emphasises prevention and earlier intervention in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, addressing the drivers of homelessness before people need temporary housing or sleep rough.
The fund supports wellbeing and employment services, identifying housing risks in community settings, timely advocacy, housing transitions and tenancy sustainment. Organisations need not identify as homelessness charities: work with people at higher future risk can qualify, even without an immediate housing crisis. Existing services with evidenced outcomes, expansions or adaptations, pilots and new services can receive funding. Priority may be given to work with young people, collaboration between providers and services shaped by lived experience. Support for parents and carers can also fit where it helps prevent family breakdown and homelessness.
