Key Information: Applicants must be within six years of their first independent faculty appointment, with limited leave exceptions.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) jointly support early-career investigators conducting research with direct applicability and relevance to breast cancer. The awards fund basic, translational, clinical, epidemiological, population health, and community-based cancer research designed to accelerate the discovery, development, and application of new agents to treat breast cancer.
Research advancing scientific understanding of cancer health disparities in racial and ethnic minorities is also considered when relevant to breast cancer. The program supports independent faculty investigators at academic, medical, or research institutions worldwide. A competitive Letter of Intent process identifies projects with the greatest scientific potential and alignment with the program before selected applicants are invited to submit full applications.
