Description
The Ben Franklin Technology Partners Challenge Grant is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development through the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority (BFTDA). Funding flows through four independent Ben Franklin Technology Partners, which provide capital, business expertise, technology commercialization services, and regional resources. The program supports new technologies and the generation, conservation, and transportation of alternative and clean energy.
Its focus is the creation and expansion of high-growth companies through advanced technologies and practices. Supported work includes applied research and development leading to near-term commercialization, technology transfer, improvements that strengthen established companies’ competitiveness, and entrepreneurial infrastructure. The Partners also support collaboration with universities and economic development organizations to strengthen Pennsylvania’s capacity to support technology businesses.
