Description
The BEPS Technical Assistance Program is an initiative of the Clean Buildings Hub, administered by the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). It aims to empower Maryland building owners to make well-informed energy investments in their properties through individualized, one-on-one technical assistance. Examples of support include energy benchmarking and planning building retrofits over multiple years.
The initiative sits within MEA’s commercial and community buildings sector and targets large buildings subject to Maryland’s Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS). Its emphasis is on technical guidance for property-level energy investment decisions, rather than direct funding for improvements. MEA includes the initiative in its Fiscal Year 2027 notice of upcoming programs, which is provided for planning purposes and is subject to changes in final program design and stakeholder feedback.
