The Bernard G. Sarnat Award in Craniofacial Biology is presented annually to honor outstanding original research in craniofacial growth and development. Supported by an endowed donation from Dr. Bernard G. Sarnat and the Craniofacial Biology Group, the award is intended for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows who are the primary authors and presenters of abstracts accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session. The awardee receives a $500 cash prize, an engraved plaque, and recognition at the Craniofacial Biology Group business meeting.
Research is judged on originality, scientific design, suitability of methods, scientific value, quality of presentation, and responses to questions. Finalists are selected based on their submitted abstracts and are expected to present their work at a dedicated poster session during the General Session.
