Description
CalRecycle’s Beverage Container Recycling Grant Program supports new or enhanced programs that provide convenient beverage-container recycling opportunities throughout California and reduce beverage-container litter. Eligible settings include multifamily housing with five or more units, public and nonprofit colleges and universities, public K–12 school districts, community events, parks and recreational areas, and residential curbside programs excluding single-stream collection.
The program also supports water refill stations and mobile water trailer bars, associated infrastructure and maintenance, and related education and outreach. Reusable cups and refillable bottles qualify only when purchased or leased with mobile water trailer bars. Litter cleanup projects must include beverage containers that will be recycled. Priority funding goes to Tribal Entities and applicants proposing litter abatement along the United States–Mexico border.
