Funding Amounts: Up to £400,000 per year for 5 years, renewable once (maximum 10 years); funding is flexible and not tied to a specific project.

Description
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Research Professorships are designed to foster world-class leadership in cardiovascular research. These prestigious awards support outstanding principal investigators to expand their research, build critical mass at their institutions, and act as ambassadors for the BHF. The scheme enables recipients to pursue ambitious, high-impact research across discovery and clinical science, with flexible funding intended to enhance the overall research portfolio of the Professor rather than a single project. Professors are expected to demonstrate scientific excellence, strong leadership, and disruptive potential in their fields, while also advancing the strategic priorities of the BHF.
