Description
The Big Sur Fund in Memory of Weston Call is a special purpose fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, founded in 2018. It supports organizations with the leadership and capacity to provide important community resources and services in Big Sur. Priorities include essential health, fire, and safety needs; educational, cultural, and historical programs; sustainable tourism and destination stewardship; and partnerships that strengthen direct services.
The fund considers expansion or refinement of existing programs, promising new programs, unrestricted operating support, and capital costs for Big Sur buildings and facilities. A volunteer Advisory Council reviews applications annually and recommends grants based on community priorities and potential impact. The Community Foundation’s board has final authority over grant decisions.
