Description
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) runs the Researcher Exchange Program through bilateral arrangements with the Estonian Research Council (ETAG) and the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL). It provides financial support for researchers from Japan to visit counterpart-country researchers for research and scholarly discussions. All areas of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences are covered.
The program aims to turn these visits into foundations for joint research and networks that develop sustainably. Selection considers scientific value, advance communication between researchers, the feasibility of the research plan, and prospects for continuing collaboration. The latest published guidelines, for FY2027, describe postdoctoral exchanges with a maximum of one researcher selected for each country, subject to budgetary and other conditions.
