    Description

The Biocodex Microbiota Foundation’s Mexico national research grant supports innovative scientific research on intestinal microbiota and its relationship with health and disease. The 2026 theme is “Microbioma y la Salud Mental” (Microbiome and Mental Health), inviting clinical and basic research that advances fundamental and applied knowledge in this area.

The Foundation aims to make research more accessible and broaden knowledge of intestinal microbiota, helping researchers explore new diagnostic and treatment alternatives for disorders and diseases. In Mexico, an independent scientific committee drawn from public universities and health-sector institutions selects the winning project through a competitive process based on merit and quality. The grant forms part of the Foundation’s annual national research program.
