The Leon Levy Center for Biography offers four resident Biography Fellowships each year to support the research and writing of outstanding biographies. The September–May program at the CUNY Graduate Center combines dedicated writing space, research resources, and assistance with opportunities to develop a biography alongside other writers. The current application is for the 2027–2028 fellowship.
Fellows focus on their projects while participating in monthly seminars and public events, including the Center’s annual lecture and conference. They are also encouraged to engage with the Graduate Center’s intellectual community. The program welcomes first-time, mid-career, and senior biographers, with preference for applicants who have not yet published a biography or received a fellowship to write one.
