    Description

The Berthiaume Institute for Precision Health (BIPH) at the University of Notre Dame offers summer graduate fellowships supported by the Leiva Graduate Fellowship in Precision Medicine, the O’Brien Family Endowment for Excellence Fellowship, and the Berthiaume Family. The program connects graduate research with training goals and career development, emphasizing specific research aims, innovation, a detailed experimental approach, and the expected impact of results.

Training may include coursework, workshops, skills acquisition, and faculty-supported research and professional development opportunities. The O’Brien Fellowship gives extra consideration to research addressing Parkinson’s disease, with a preference for work toward a cure, but also considers other disease areas. Previous fellows have worked across biological sciences, chemistry and biochemistry, bioengineering, integrated biomedical sciences, and engineering disciplines.
