Description
The Wyoming Arts Council administers two annual writing awards intended to bring wider attention to emerging Wyoming writers. The Neltje Blanchan Memorial Writing Award Inspired by Nature recognizes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or scripts informed by a relationship with the natural world. The Frank Nelson Doubleday Memorial Writing Award for Writing by a Woman recognizes work in those forms by a woman writer.
Established by artist and Wyoming arts advocate Neltje Doubleday Kings in memory of her grandparents, the awards support writers who have not yet received wide recognition at pivotal points in their careers. A rotating panel of literary professionals reviews submissions.
