Description
The Saginaw Community Foundation’s Board of Directors’ Community Improvement Initiative supports the development and improvement of permanent community assets. The program encourages community organizations and their partners to collaborate on projects that produce enduring, measurable impact. Supported assets include park improvements, playground equipment, trails, pavilions, trailhead buildings, youth center equipment, fitness park equipment, and refurbishment of recreation or community centers.
Projects must be planned and supported by a broad range of users and have a clearly defined plan for success and sustainability. While the initiative welcomes projects addressing community needs, it prioritizes diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice. These priorities include celebrating differences, expanding equitable access, removing participation barriers, helping people feel heard and valued, strengthening connection, and challenging structures that limit fairness.
