Description
The Board of Regents/SREB Doctoral Support Initiative is a statewide program administered by the Louisiana Board of Regents. Its primary goal is to recruit and retain doctoral students at eligible Louisiana institutions who plan to pursue faculty careers. The program provides institutional awards—allocated as support slots to graduate schools or governing units—which then distribute these slots among qualified departments. Each slot offers an academic-year financial supplement, membership in the SREB Doctoral Scholars Program, and participation in the annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring, thereby combining direct financial assistance with robust professional development opportunities.
