Boating Facilities Program supports public agencies and tribes in acquiring, developing, renovating, and planning boating facilities to improve public recreational access to freshwater and saltwater.

Description
The Boating Facilities Program supports public access to freshwater and saltwater for recreational motorboats and other watercraft. The Recreation and Conservation Funding Board administers the program, with support from the Recreation and Conservation Office. Funding comes from a portion of the gasoline tax paid by boaters and is awarded every two years.
Projects can acquire land, develop or renovate facilities, or complete design and permitting for boating facilities. Examples include launches, guest moorage, parking, restrooms, sewage pump-out stations, and other facilities used primarily by recreational guest boaters. The program prioritizes physical access to and from the water, rather than private, exclusive, or long-term use.
