Description
The Boating Infrastructure Grant Program is a federal program managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and administered in Washington by the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board, with support from the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO). It funds public facilities for transient recreational vessels at least 26 feet long. Transient use means a day visit or a stay of no more than 15 consecutive days.
Projects may develop or renovate guest moorage, docks, floats, breakwaters, navigational aids, and supporting facilities such as restrooms and utilities. The program also supports planning, information, and boater education. Tier One permits stand-alone maintenance projects; Tier Two permits maintenance only as part of eligible development or renovation work.
