Description
The Boating Infrastructure Grant program funds the construction, renovation, and maintenance of tie-up facilities for transient boaters with vessels at least 26 feet long. Vermont’s Fish & Wildlife Department administers the program, which is funded through the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Act and administered federally by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Eligible work includes mooring buoys, day-docks, transient slips, safe harbors, docks, piers, breakwaters, and dinghy docks. Projects may also provide navigational aids, restrooms, bulkheads, dockside utilities, electric service, water supplies, and pumpout stations. The department encourages joint requests from local governments and private facilities to improve transient boating infrastructure.
