The Bodil M. Schmidt-Nielsen Distinguished Mentor and Scientist Award honors members of the American Physiological Society (APS) who have demonstrated excellence in both physiological research and the mentoring of emerging physiologists. Named after the pioneering physiologist and first female APS president, Bodil M. Schmidt-Nielsen, the award celebrates individuals who have guided, nurtured, and inspired the next generation, developed innovative educational approaches, promoted scientific outreach, and created environments highly conducive to learning and professional growth in physiology.
