Book Publication is an internal funding program administered by John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Office for Advancement of Research (OAR). It supports faculty authors and editors bringing books into print through high-quality, reputable presses. Funding reimburses publication-related expenses, including page fees, indexing fees, and image rights.
The program addresses single-author or editor books as well as co-authored and multi-author works, with cost-sharing expectations for nonstudent authors. Its focus is the expense of publishing an accepted book, rather than a separate research project. Applicants document both the publication agreement and the publisher’s quality and reach when requesting support.
