Description
The Austrian Science Fund’s Book Publications program supports independent, non-profit scholarly publications across all academic disciplines. It funds monographs, focused edited volumes, proceedings, and similar works presenting basic research of international relevance. The goal is to make outstanding research accessible to a wider public through simultaneous open-access publication and archiving in the FWF E-Book Library.
Funding combines production and open-access costs with proofreading, foreign-language editing, or translation. Publications must meet current international scientific standards and significantly broaden knowledge or advance research. Support is available only where high-quality publication would not be possible without additional funding. Applications are independent of other FWF programs, although books arising from FWF-funded projects may qualify for an accelerated decision procedure.
