Description
The Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI) is a central funding mechanism of the European Union’s Integrated Border Management Fund (IBMF), part of the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (2021–2027). Its primary aim is to ensure robust and effective management of the EU’s external borders, support the common visa policy, and contribute to internal security while safeguarding the free movement of persons across the Union. The BMVI is governed by the Common Provisions Regulation and is implemented alongside the Customs Control Equipment Instrument under the IBMF.
