Description
The Borregaard Clinical Ascending Investigator grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation is aimed at advancing high-level Danish clinical and translational research with direct relevance to patient care and human health. The program supports mid-career, clinically active medical doctors (associate professor level or equivalent) who wish to consolidate their research leadership through ambitious, independent 5-year projects. The grant enables clinicians to dedicate 50% of their time to research by funding a substitute for their clinical duties, while the clinician remains 50% engaged in clinical work throughout the grant period. Research fields can include disease mechanisms, treatment methods, disease trajectories, epidemiology, diagnostics, public health, intervention studies, register-based research, proof-of-concept studies, pilot projects, initial clinical trials, and biomedicine.
