Description
The Novo Nordisk Foundation supports accomplished, independent clinical researchers through five-year projects that strengthen Danish clinical and translational research at a high international level. Part of its Clinical Research Leader Programme, this grant helps mid-career research leaders consolidate their work while maintaining clinical responsibilities. Funding covers a qualified substitute for half of the investigator’s clinical duties alongside direct research expenses.
The scope includes patient- and disease-related research, disease mechanisms, treatments, disease trajectories, epidemiology, diagnostics, public health, family medicine and biomedicine. Supported approaches include intervention studies, register-based research, proof-of-concept studies, pilot projects, initial clinical trials and clinical testing. These examples are not exhaustive: the overarching goal is research relevant to patients and human health.
