Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro supports young scientists who want to acquire or broaden their experience in oncological research in a cancer-focused laboratory in Italy. Fellowships support one, two, or three years of research training, with separate Pre-Doc and Post-Doc categories. Three-year awards receive most of the resources devoted to training, giving researchers time to develop a solid foundation for an experienced research career.

Proposed projects must have a clear cancer focus and the potential to advance knowledge or treatment of cancer. AIRC seeks innovative, feasible, internationally competitive research suited to the applicant’s career stage and achievable within the fellowship period. Host laboratories provide supervision, mentoring, research resources, and training opportunities. Mobility is favorably considered, with higher annual awards for fellows who document relocation from abroad.
