Description
The California State Water Resources Control Board funds interim drinking-water assistance for public schools facing a documented water-quality problem, such as an exceedance of a primary maximum contaminant level, or a water-supply problem, such as a dry well. The Bottled Water for Schools Grant Program provides bottled water while the problem affecting a school’s usual supply remains unresolved; it does not fund repairs or other long-term water projects.
Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) administers the program. It works with schools on requests for assistance and coordinates with vendors to arrange and manage deliveries to approved sites.
