Description
This award supports outstanding graduate students at the University of British Columbia (UBC) who self-identify as Black or as a Person of Colour (BPOC). It aims to recognize research and scholarly excellence and address systemic barriers faced by racialized students in academia. Funding is allocated to disciplinary Faculties and graduate programs, which then recommend recipients and award amounts to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The award reflects UBC’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in graduate education.
