Description
The award is designed to recognize and celebrate outstanding research and scholarly performance among graduate students at the University of British Columbia (UBC) who self-identify as Black or as a Person of Colour (BPOC). This initiative aims to address systemic barriers faced by BPOC students during their academic training, fostering a more inclusive academic environment and encouraging the advancement of diverse voices within UBC's graduate community. Awards are provided in partnership with disciplinary faculties and graduate programs, with a preference for domestic students and incoming research-based master’s students.
