Description
The Branco Weiss Fellowship – Society in Science is a worldwide, transdisciplinary fellowship coordinated and administered by ETH Zurich. It supports exceptionally qualified postdoctoral researchers in all disciplines, including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities. Fellows have the freedom to pursue independent scientific visions in the most suitable research locations globally.
The program seeks scientifically rigorous projects that depart significantly from mainstream research and explore new avenues, often across disciplinary boundaries. It typically does not fund mainstream projects that could be supported by other scientific organizations. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding scientific achievement and a willingness to engage in dialogue on relevant social, cultural, political, or economic issues beyond their own fields.
