Description
The American Library Association’s BRASS Academic Business Librarianship Travel Award supports attendance at the ALA Annual Conference by an individual new to academic business librarianship. Established in 2012, the annual award is administered by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) and is currently sponsored by Finaeon. It supports conference travel rather than a standalone research project or publication.
Selection emphasizes demonstrated interest in business librarianship and the potential for conference participation to enhance both individual career development and the profession. Relevant experience may include coursework, internships, jobs, special projects, and publications. Financial need also contributes to selection, and membership in ALA, RUSA, or BRASS is preferred but not required.
