Description
The American Chemical Society (ACS) and Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) jointly promote these annual awards to recognize women scientists’ outstanding research and contributions to chemistry and related sciences. Sponsored by ACS and ACS Publications, the program highlights the importance of diversity in scientific research and promotes gender equality in Brazil’s chemistry community.
Awards recognize emerging scientists and entrepreneurs, industry innovators whose discoveries contribute to commercial success and societal benefit, and established academics whose research has global and social impact. Contributions considered include scientific discovery, teaching, student advising, science communication, and social projects advancing gender equity. ACS and SBQ jointly review nominations using criteria specific to each category.
