The Brenda S. Banks Travel Award, established by the Society of American Archivists (SAA) in 2017, is designed to honor and support individuals of color who have demonstrated professional archival experience and are interested in active engagement with SAA. The award aims to foster professional development, networking, and increased participation in SAA by enabling first-time attendees from underrepresented backgrounds to experience the national SAA Annual Meeting and encouraging their ongoing involvement in the archival profession.
