--- ## Description This annual travel award assists graduate or medical students with expenses to present their cancer-related research at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting. Established in memory of Dr. Brian C. Focht, the award recognizes his legacy in exercise science, health, and student mentorship. The award is designed to encourage student participation and engagement in the ACSM community, especially for those whose work advances understanding of exercise’s role in cancer prevention, treatment, or recovery. --- ## Due Dates - March 2027 (anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - $500 per award - One award is given each year --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be a current ACSM national member in good standing (chapter-only membership is not sufficient). - Open to graduate and medical students enrolled full-time and conducting research in cancer. Research focus may include exercise, nutrition, implementation science, behavioral intervention, sleep, and/or technology. - Applicants must be the presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation at the ACSM Annual Meeting. - Past recipients of the Brian C.
