Description
The AASLD Foundation Bridge Award provides project-based support for investigators whose recent NIH R or equivalent federal applications received competitive scores but were not funded. It supports all aspects of liver disease research, including basic science, clinical, translational, and outcomes research. The award helps investigators address their original review critique and summary statement while strengthening a proposal for resubmission to the NIH or another federal agency.
This is temporary bridge support rather than a substitute for federal funding. Applicants must explain how the proposed work will address reviewers’ concerns and lead to resubmission during or immediately following the award. The program is supported through independent grants and unrestricted donations from AASLD and donors to the Foundation.
