Description
The Society for Family Planning provides bridging support for NIH-funded abortion and/or contraception research in the United States that was disrupted by funding termination. Supported by the Society’s reserve funds, the program aims to preserve knowledge that could otherwise be lost and help research achieve its intended impact on just and equitable abortion and contraception informed by science.
Funding supports completion or partial completion of the original project rather than new research. Proposed activities may include data collection, analysis, and dissemination, as relevant to the original grant’s goals. Applicants must explain alignment with the Society’s mission and identify which original aims can and cannot be achieved with bridging support, supported by a detailed work plan, justified budget, and feasible timeline.
