    Description

Brown University’s Division of Research administers the Research Achievement Awards to recognize outstanding faculty research portfolios, significant disciplinary contributions, and scholarly achievement demonstrated through publications, professional awards, and funded research. Awards span Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Public Health, and hospital-based research faculty.

Early Career Awards recognize exemplary research during faculty members’ first years at Brown. Mid-Career Awards honor outstanding achievements at that career stage, while Distinguished Awards recognize exceptional research throughout a career at Brown and recent national or international peer acclaim. Early Career Awards are offered annually; Mid-Career Awards run in even years and Distinguished Awards in odd years. In 2027, the program will offer eight awards across the Early Career and Distinguished categories.
