Description
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s Brownfield Site Assessment Grant Program helps local governments evaluate abandoned, idle, or underused industrial and commercial sites whose redevelopment is adversely affected by actual or perceived environmental contamination. It supports the early work needed to understand site conditions and advance properties with economic or community development potential toward redevelopment.
Grants can support environmental investigations, demolition that improves access for site investigation, removal of abandoned containers or specified underground storage tank systems, and associated asbestos abatement. The program is directed toward site assessment and related site work rather than new construction.
