Description
MassDevelopment’s Brownfields Redevelopment Fund finances environmental assessment and remediation at brownfield sites where environmental conditions impede redevelopment. Funding can address assessment, remediation, or both, depending on what a project needs to move toward productive reuse.
The fund targets redevelopment projects that can begin site work and construction within a short period and have an immediate gap in their development budgets. Projects must provide substantial community benefit by eliminating blight, creating employment or housing opportunities, or combining these outcomes.
