Description
The Institute for South Asia Studies (ISAS) at UC Berkeley administers this grant, established through the generosity of Professor Emeritus Bruce R. Pray of the Department of South & Southeast Asian Studies. It supports Berkeley-based, South Asia-focused tenure-track assistant professors and early career/pre-6 lecturers who have completed a new book manuscript in any discipline within South Asia Studies.
The grant provides focused scholarly feedback to authors midway through manuscript revision. Workshops typically last one day, with applicants encouraged to invite outside discussants in their field and Berkeley faculty members to review the manuscript and discuss specific chapters. The purpose is to help authors revise and complete their books through scholarly exchange.
