Description
The Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) administers two Brunton-funded student awards promoting field mapping and data acquisition among people whose gender identities have been historically underrepresented in the geosciences. Applicants should demonstrate a passion for fieldwork and exceptional field experience through internships, field camp, coursework with a field-based research component, or research.
The AWG Brunton Award has recognized fieldwork for more than 20 years. The Brunton Field Project Award, established in 2022, adds financial support for upcoming field activities. Both awards recognize the value of field-based studies and applicants’ plans to continue fieldwork as an integral part of their geoscience education or career.
