Description
The Brunton Award and Brunton Field Project Award, administered by the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG), recognize and support students whose gender identity has been historically underrepresented in the geosciences. These awards honor individuals with a demonstrated passion for and exceptional experience in field work, aiming to encourage the next generation of field-based geoscientists. The Brunton Award provides an engraved Brunton compass and a one-year AWG membership. The Brunton Field Project Award additionally includes up to $1,000 in support for field activities, which may cover a wide range of expenses, including non-traditional needs such as childcare. Both awards support field mapping, data acquisition, and the advancement of field-based research and career goals.
