Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program
The Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program supports Ohio county Lead Entities in clearing blighted buildings and restoring non-brownfield sites for future use and community revitalization.

Description
The Ohio Department of Development runs this program to demolish blighted, vacant, or abandoned commercial and residential buildings on sites that are not brownfields. Funding can support property assessments and security, debris removal, environmental assessments, asbestos surveys, demolition, hazardous-material removal, and post-demolition site restoration.
The goal is to prepare sites for future use and revitalize surrounding communities. Development places particular priority on residential projects with future housing development potential, alongside projects showing readiness, local support, and economic benefits. Subsequent redevelopment is guided by local strategic or community plans; program funds do not pay for other redevelopment purposes.
