Description
The Building Fund for the Arts is a Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) initiative funded through appropriations from the Mississippi Legislature. It supports the repair, renovation, expansion, and construction of facilities that serve as sites for year-round arts programming. The program aims to make better use of existing facilities and increase the places where Mississippi residents can access the arts.
Eligible work includes site development, construction, general repairs, and parking or paving improvements. Funding can also support furniture and equipment needed for arts programming, such as theater seating, lighting and sound equipment, and gallery monitors. The program has supported projects across the state, including museums and arts centers.
