Description
This program provides competitive grants to Minnesota municipalities to help establish or continue training programs within their building code departments. The initiative focuses on supporting the development of full-time employees on the path to becoming Minnesota-certified building officials. Trainees receive supervised, hands-on experience in building code enforcement, starting as construction code inspectors and working toward attaining state certification (either Building Official-Limited or full Building Official). The grant is intended to partially fund the training position and provide a structured training curriculum, with the goal of increasing the number of qualified municipal building officials across the state.
