Description
Business Builds: Climatetech is a competitive capital grant program administered by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and created by the Mass Leads Act. It helps for-profit companies producing climate-critical technologies finance facilities, equipment, and commercial-scale operations in Massachusetts, addressing the “missing-middle” financing gap. The program prioritizes first-of-a-kind commercial operations and established producers expanding or relocating manufacturing.
The program supports technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce reliance on non-renewable energy, or help communities and infrastructure adapt to climate change. Its goals include advancing Massachusetts’ climate and energy priorities, reducing ratepayer costs, creating high-quality jobs, and attracting investment. Place-based development is also important, including access to jobs in Gateway Cities and Burdened Areas, local supply chains, and revitalization of underused properties.
