Description
The Business Women’s Giving Circle at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia invests in innovative programs that empower girls and young women through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Its grantmaking emphasizes STEM experiences with entrepreneurship, leadership, or mentorship components and measurable impact in Northern Virginia. Both new and existing programs may receive support, including opportunities that combine STEM exposure and training with leadership and entrepreneurship skills.
Established in 2014, the circle uses a member-driven grantmaking process to select programs serving girls from preschool through college age. Its mission also includes building meaningful connections among members and grantees and inspiring collective philanthropy. Since its founding, the circle has awarded more than $660,000 to organizations reaching over 4,200 girls and young women across the region.
