Description
Buy Local is a Kentucky Proud program facilitated by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) through the Office of Agricultural Marketing. It supports purchases of source-verified food grown or raised in Kentucky, helping participating restaurants, food service institutions, schools, and hospitals access more local ingredients. Reimbursement incentives center on Kentucky-produced food and local sourcing.
The program also provides benefits to enrolled Kentucky Proud distributors that help participating buyers access local ingredients. This distributor component supports the businesses involved in bringing Kentucky-grown or Kentucky-raised food to food-service purchasers. Buy Local is part of KDA’s broader work to facilitate funding opportunities for farmers and businesses that grow and help market Kentucky agricultural products.
