Description
The Byrd Postdoctoral Scholarship supports researchers with superior academic backgrounds pursuing advanced research on polar and alpine environments and global climate change at Ohio State University. Administered through the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, the program was established through a major gift from the Byrd Foundation in memory of Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd and Marie Ames Byrd.
The scholarship supports research of mutual interest to the scholar and a Byrd Center mentor, with projects designed to complement the center’s existing programs. Research proposals should define objectives, broader impacts, expected outcomes and measures of success. The appointment also incorporates mentoring, training and career development, including opportunities to collaborate on presentations, papers and grant proposals.
