Description
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) offers this research fellowship to encourage high-quality scholarship across various aspects of archaeology and promote contact between North American archaeologists and scholars of the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut (DAI). The Fellowship for Study in the U.S. supports a post-doctoral research residency at the University of Cincinnati or the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), during fall 2027 or spring 2028.
Fellows receive access to their host institution’s libraries and opportunities to discuss their research with colleagues. Past projects have addressed settlement patterns, urban development, burial customs, architectural research, cultural exchange, and archaeological chronology. The residency combines dedicated research time with participation in the intellectual and social life of the host institution.
