Description
Stanford’s Community for Shared Research Platforms (C-ShaRP) Voucher Program supports collaborative research using services and equipment in shared facilities across the Schools of Medicine, Engineering, Humanities and Sciences, and Sustainability. Funded through investments from the Provost and Vice Provost and Dean of Research, the program helps faculty explore shared instrumentation before committing start-up funds or grants to purchasing equipment.
The program prioritizes new faculty establishing research programs and researchers collecting pilot data for new, unfunded topics. It encourages direct partnerships with shared-facility staff, proof-of-concept experiments using new research technologies, improved user experience, and greater visibility and utilization of shared facilities. Supported work is expected to lead to major extramural grant applications, such as NIH R01-equivalent, major foundation, or Department of Defense awards.
