--- ## Description This fellowship is designed to support emerging professionals in art history, architecture, and design history, including curators and critics, who have recently earned their PhD or are in the final year of their doctoral program. The program provides financial resources, professional recognition, and opportunities for engagement within the broader academic and professional community. In addition to a $10,000 unrestricted award, fellows and honorable mentions receive a complimentary one-year CAA membership and free registration to the next College Art Association Annual Conference. --- ## Due Dates - October 2026 (anticipated full application deadline) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - $10,000 unrestricted fellowship award per recipient. - Additional benefits: one-year CAA membership and complimentary registration to the next Annual Conference. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. - Open to individuals who have recently earned a PhD or are in the final year of their PhD program in art history, architecture, design history, or related fields. - Applicants must demonstrate financial need. - A CAA individual member ID or non-member ID is required to apply (accounts can be created online). - Scholars from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. --- ## Application Process Applicants must submit: - Curriculum vitae (CV) - Personal essay (maximum four double-spaced pages, 12-point font) - Dissertation prospectus - Completed dissertation chapter - Expected date of dissertation completion (if applicable) - Two letters of recommendation (include contact information for recommenders) Applications are submitted through the CAA's online portal.
